There are many makeup ideas and tips and one of the most important part of makeup is eye makeup. We’ll give you some basic eye makeup ideas and tips for you to get started with some great eye makeup ideas to show off to the world or perhaps for a special someone. Makeup Ideas Mag gives you the basic strokes (no pun intended!) for your eye makeup ideas and tips.
For a more glamorous or special evening you can use a lighter shade of shadow under the arch of your eyebrow. Use a slightly darker shade on your eyelids and smudge the two together to get a smooth gradient. Finally you can use a darker thin line of eyeliner with a complimentary shade to finish your eye makeup. You can check out how to apply smoky eye makeup in another one of our great posts.
For a sexy look you can try a smoky eye shadow in a grey, maroon or medium brown. Colors that are a mild darker tone will do well for a smoky look. If you have blue or green eyes you can use brown or maroon to bring out the color. You can use grey tones for brown eyes.
For your upper eyelashes, you can use an eyeliner slowly thickening your lash as your reach the outer tip. You can then use a lighter shade on the lower lash. Eyeliner can make your eyes appear as different shapes on your upper and lower eye lids but remember not to apply eyeliner to the inside of the eye lash line as this can cause infections and irritate your eyes.
Eyeliner can also make small eyes appear larger by lining both the upper and lower lids. To do this you can start with a thicker line in the center and taper the line out and either end of the eye. To make your eye less round and oval, use a darker shade of eyeliner on the outer two thirds of the your eye and extend the line just beyond the end of your eye for both the upper and lower lid. The finished look should form a V shape ad the corner of your eye. Another trick is to narrow wider set eyes by using a thicker line from the middle to the inner side of the eye and top lid only.
Mascara is an essential part of giving you the look you want. Many makeup ideas have thick long lashes that look like a fan. Mascara should be applied in several stages but don’t rush the process! No one wants clumpy eyelashes. Make sure it dries in between each application. Before you apply the mascara, use an eyelash curl to curl your eyelashes. Then close your eyes and put just a touch of face powder on to your lashes then apply the first layer. As the mascara is drying use a small comb to comb out any clumps to smooth out your lashes out. Repeat this process and remember to be careful and not to turn the wand toward your eye and accidentally poke it!
