Jennifer Lawrence has become a full-blown celebrity and a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood. She’s starred in hit movies such as Hunger Games and has even won an Oscar for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. To go with her acting skills she has also graced us with her elegant dresses and great makeup looks. Makeup Ideas Mag gives you the breakdown on some of Jennifer’s great makeup looks.
At the 2013 Oscars Jennifer dazzled in a Dior gown and her accompanying makeup was just as red carpet worthy. Her look comprised of soft rosy cheeks, delicate pink hued lips and a smudged eye, this is how you can recreate the look. Oily skin is every girl’s nightmare and could ruin expertly applied makeup, so begin the look by using a pore refining solution, which will keep your skin oil free yet hydrated.
The Perfect Arch
Have you ever noticed Jennifer’s perfectly arched and prominent eyebrows? Well it’s not all natural, so don’t despair. Use a firm angled brush and a shade of brown powder that is slightly darker than your natural color to brush your eyebrow hair upwards, also extend the tail of your brow more as this will really accentuate the shape of your face. Complete your brow grooming by lightly applying a brow gel to them which will hold the shape in place.
To achieve Jennifer’s sultry smoky eye you first need to dust your eyelids (pulling the shadow outwards in an almond shape) and the outer corner of your lower lid with a silvery shadow. Use a black pencil liner to draw a slightly thick line across the top lid keeping it as close to the lash line as possible. Draw another line, this time a very thin one, across the bottom lashes and then use a blending brush to gently smudge the liner upward into the lashes, this will make your eyes pop but try not to overdo it or you’ll end up looking really Goth. For the final flare add a coat of deep black mascara to your lashes for a bit of volume.
Jennifer cheeks always seem to have a natural blush so minimalism is a must for this look, apply a light peach or soft pink powder blush to the apples of your cheeks. A light cream blush would be fine as well but they can sometimes seem a little oily and they aren’t as easy to apply, so do so with caution.
Since Jennifer’s eyes were the focal point of her Oscar look she kept her lips low key yet feminine with a shimmery baby pink gloss but please don’t just use the first pink you get your hands on, choose one that suits your complexion. If you aren’t a “pink” person you can use a more neutral gloss but if you’re going out for a night on the town why not switch it up with a red hot lipstick for an even sexier look.
While we don’t all get to be famous actresses, experiencing the glitz and glamor of a celebrity lifestyle, we are lucky because we don’t feel the pressure of always having to look perfect for the camera; instead we can look perfect just for ourselves. The Oscars may not be marked off on your calendar but this look is great for anything from parties, to weddings or simply a dinner with your special guy. So ladies break out your makeup bags and get to work recreating these Jennifer Lawrence makeup looks and ideas to bring out the Hollywood starlet in you.
